PC: Install Pwika Directly

This page explains how to install Pwika Tools without going through Adobe Exchange.

1. Install WinSCP from the distributor’s website

  • this link will open winscp.net in a new window
  • download and install WinSCP normally (watch out for the ads)

2. Install Pwika Tools from the Pwika Store

Click on this logo to download the Pwika Tools ZIP archive:

Unzip the downloaded file and drag it into:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\

Restart Adobe Illustrator

You should find Pwika Tools under the Windows › Extensions menu.

If Pwika Tools is Missing or Broken in Illustrator

You may encounter one of two problems:

  • you do not see Pwika Tools under Window › Extensions
  • Pwika Tools opens but it is blank (there are no buttons or logo)

In this case, you will need to turn on Debug Mode for Adobe Illustrator:

  • Open the Registry Editor (Windows Start, then type “regedit”)
  • Go to Computer›HKEY_CURRENT_USER›SOFTWARE›Adobe›CSXS.11
    (if version 11 is not present go to the version you see)
  • Add a new String Value
  • Call it PlayerDebugMode, and set the value to 1 (source)

Restart Adobe Illustrator.
